MVLA launches new website and mobile app

The Mountain View Los Altos Union School District revamped its website and launched a mobile app, where students and parents can receive announcements from the district.

To download the mobile app, visit the App Store (on iPhone) or Google Play Store (on Android) and search for “MVLA”. Once the app is downloaded, you can sign up for the schools you want to see information about.

Astrophysicist Should Host Free Online Lecture Through Foothill College

Astrophysicist Michelle Thaller is scheduled to give a free virtual lecture as part of the Silicon Valley Astronomy Lecture Series through Foothill College at 7 p.m. on February 9.

Thaller, who works at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, will give a non-technical illustrated lecture titled “Living with a Star: Creating and Sustaining a Life-Supporting Planet, in Our Solar System and Others,” according to a press release from the event.

Thaller studies the life cycle of stars and has more than two decades of experience in science communication.

His talk will be streamed live on YouTube at youtube.com/SVAstronomyLectures and uploaded to the channel afterwards.
